FREEMED

Providing Aid to low-income individuals with no prescription insurance.

FREEMED continues to assist low-income individuals with no prescription insurance obtain prescription medications at no cost to them using Pharmaceutical Company Patient Assistance Programs.

Whom we serve

FREEMED is an outreach program of the Idaho Falls Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul providing aid to low-income individuals who have exhausted their prescription insurance or do not have prescription insurance.

Many of our clients are on fixed retirement or disability incomes.

FREEMED is able to assist many people enrolled in Medicare D with medications that are not covered by their provider or who are approaching the coverage gap.

We also help income eligible people enroll for Social Security’s Low-Income
Subsidy, possibly saving them thousands of dollars per year in Medicare prescription drug costs.

FREEMED provides services to people in southeast Idaho and surrounding areas.

We do not keep medications or cash on our premises and do not charge for our services.

How FREEMED works

FREEMED assists clients with information and paperwork to access pharmaceutical companies’ programs offering thousands of drugs and dosages.

Patient assistance programs are intended to provide maintenance medication for people suffering chronic or long-term illnesses.

The client requests an application and gathers required personal information
including income, physician, medication, etc. before their enrollment interview.

Once the client is considered eligible, forms are completed with supporting documents and signatures and submitted to the appropriate patient assistance program.

In four to six weeks, medications will be mailed to the physician’s office or
to the client’s home depending on the assistance program’s policy.

Refills are later processed before the medication is depleted to assure the client is never without medication.

We do not charge for our
FREEMED services.
